What is PAN?  The Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN) is the unified voice of the Parkinson’s disease community at the Federal Level.  PAN serves as the voice of Parkinson’s disease on numerous public policy issues affecting the Parkinson’s community.  In addition to PAN’s work on National Institutes of Health (NIH) funding and research, PAN is a powerful voice on many crucial issues including Parkinson’s specific programs at the Departments of Defense and Veteran’s Affairs, Food and Drug Administration (FDA) drug approval issues, and Health and Human Services (HHS) programs (Medicare and Social Security).

Getting Involved. When constituents speak, lawmakers listen.  PAN is here to ensure that the voice of the Parkinson’s community is heard.

PAN has established a Grassroots Advocacy Program that include over 150 volunteer leaders in over 40 states, who direct a network of several thousand advocates. These advocates bring a much needed awareness to lawmakers about Parkinson’s disease and public policy issues and legislation that has an impact on their lives.

PAN hosts an “Action Alert” system that informs advocates about the public policy issues, or pending legislation, that PAN is fighting for or against.  The alerts educate the advocates about the issue that requires action and helps them reach out to their elected officials.
