American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA)
|
Recognizing the
devastating effects of Parkinson’s on patients and their families, APDA has
organized support groups to help people cope with the disease. Support groups provide emotional comfort and help participants set new lifestyle priorities. The groups help motivate patients to maximize their strengths and minimize their impediments.

Parkinson’s Action Network (PAN)
New Mexico Coordinators
|
Through education and collaboration with the
Parkinson’s community, scientists, lawmakers, opinion leaders, and the
public, PAN leads the fight to ease the burden and find a cure. PAN increases
awareness about Parkinson’s disease and seeks increased and accelerated
federal support for Parkinson’s research. PAN's success
depends on the work and efforts of its advocacy and grassroots base.
State and congressional coordinators, along with advocates in nearly
each of the fifty states, work in their communities to encourage support for
the Parkinson's community on a local level.
